Funeral services held for fallen Berks County fire chiefs

FLEETWOOD, Pa. (WPVI) -- Family members, friends, and fellow firefighters gathered Saturday to honor two Berks County fire chiefs killed in the line of duty.

A joint funeral service was held at Fleetwood High School for Walnuttown Fire Chief Jeff Buck and Assistant Chief Robert Schick Jr., who died while responding to a call last Saturday in Richmond Township.

Authorities said the two were searching for a missing woman along Route 222 when a sedan crossed into oncoming traffic and struck their vehicle headon.

The driver, 26yearold Alexander Rivera of New York City, was arrested and faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence.

Buck and Schick were remembered for their decades of service, leadership, and dedication to their community.
